9 Last-Minute Tips For Wedding Day Bliss

9 Last-Minute Tips For Wedding Day Bliss

Do you hear that? The birds are chirping… the sun is shining… it’s YOUR wedding week and we’ve got some last-minute tips for you to consider!

1. STAY ORGANIZED
The moments leading up to your big day can be extremely hectic. So, Amanda Henderson from the Hampshire House suggests staying as organized as possible. She recommends labeling all of your day of items (i.e. your guestbook, escort cards, framed photos, etc.) so when you give them to your coordinator you know everything will be set up correctly.

2. WASH YOUR HAIR
Michelle DeVoe of Demiche Beauty recommends shampooing within 24 hours of your big day. She says that stylists can always make your hair dirty by adding product but they cannot clean it. So, wash your hair to prepare for that perfect curl!

3. TURN OFF YOUR PHONE
When the big day arrives… grab your phone, put it on the nightstand, and walk away.

Alexis Eliopoulos O’Mara of Unique Weddings by Alexis highly recommends taking the day away from your phone. So, connect your maid of honor with your venue, planner or parents and relax with a glass of champagne!

4. KEEP IT TIDY
Sheryl Percy of Miller Studio suggests that you be mindful of how your getting ready location will appear in photos. Be sure to make the bed, pick up your clothes and toss out any food and/or beverage from the night before. A clean and clutter-free room presents a calm starting point for a wonderful wedding day!

5. STAY IN THE LIGHT
Did you know that lighting has a big impact on photo and film? Jeff Brouillet of readyset[film] says that everyone looks best getting ready in natural light. So, if at all possible, open those shades and have your hair and makeup artist(s) set up by the windows!

6. STAY HYDRATED
Your wedding day may be hectic, so, Kelsey Bonilla of Maryelle Artistry wants you to remember to eat and drink (especially while getting ready). It’s the best way to have lots of energy and fully participate in the celebration of your love!

7. DON’T BE LATE
Justice Elizabeth Gemelli strongly recommends that you arrive on time for your “I Do’s”. This will keep your guests from getting antsy and the kitchen from having to push back dinner time!

8. TAKE A PEEK
After months of talking with your venue, florist, lighting professional and rental team about the look of your wedding reception, you’ll want to see how your vision came to life! So, Jeri Solomon of Jeri Solomon Floral Design recommends that you take a moment during the cocktail hour to look at the room before your guests move the chairs, unfold the napkins, etc.

9. BE IN THE MOMENT
Lindsay Hite is the owner of BostonGIF and her best advice is to soak up every moment and embrace the joy of the day (just as everyone does when they enter her GIF booth).

When someone activates BostonGIF’s screen it’s easy to see that they are truly present for the celebration and thinking of nothing but the fun props, silly poses and the awesome people they have by their side. So, the ninth and final tip is to keep that “photo booth mentality” and embrace spontaneous fun throughout the entire day because it goes by fast!
