3-Month Bridal Beauty Guide
Because we want you to look your most radiant for the big day, our team of artists have prepared a list with some of their top tips to help you achieve the best results.
Skin Care
Exfoliate: Exfoliation encourages natural skin cell turnover and collagen production, leading to bright, glowing skin. Start by exfoliating once a week, working up to 2-3 times per week.
Hydrate: Moisturizers and targeted serums are key to staying hydrated, but incorporating a 1-2 minute mass
age twice a day as you use them will also improve blood circulation and skin-cell turnover, as well as making your skin feel great and give you an instant glow.
Schedule a makeup trial: This is an exciting opportunity to experiment with your artist and nail down the bridal look you want. Be open and honest with your artist, they may be the experts, but you have to love the look they give you! Check our Beauty Guide: Hair & Makeup Bridal Trials for more tips.
If you are looking to get a spray tan, now would be a great time to have a trial to test your desired tone.
Understanding that progress with skincare takes time, there aren’t really any last-minute cheats you can do that will have as dramatic an impact as doing the above with plenty of time to go.
Hair Care
Shampoo less: For those brides-to-be who dye their hair, the easiest way to safeguard your color is to reduce the number of times you wash it. Also, over-shampooing can dehydrate your hair.
Try Deep conditioning treatments: Be sure to pick the right hair treatment. For example, if you have an oily scalp, choose an exfoliating treatment that can help remove excess oil and exfoliate the scalp. Look for ingredients like salicylic acid, glycolic acid, neem, witch hazel, etc. In case of a dry scalp, masks or treatments with hydrating and nourishing ingredients like ceramides, peptides, and aloe vera, are ideal. Those with normal scalps can pick conditioning masks.
If you want to change your hair color for the big day or just add some highlights, now is the perfect time to experiment, have fun and enjoy yourself while you find that perfect look!
Book your Hair trial: Remember to bring photos of some of the looks you want to try with you, as this will help your artist to understand your vision.
Brows
Consider microblading your brows? If your brows are on the thinner side or even if you are just aiming for the perfect natural look, now is the perfect time to experiment in this two step process. After a week of healing to begin with, you need to go for a second touch-up around 6 weeks later. Make sure you do your research and hire someone with a great reputation.
Teeth
If you are planning any teeth whitening regimes, now is the time to book a consultation with a specialist to see whether a teeth whitening procedure is appropriate for you, and understand what results you can get. It’s worth checking in with your dentist first to get the go-ahead for any treatments, for example, if you have sensitive teeth, then these kinds of treatments may not be recommended.
If your dentist gives you the all-clear, you may decide to go with a well-known at-home whitening treatment, such as Crest Whitestrips, which can give you fantastic results (a product that won the 2018 Allure Best of Beauty Award for best tooth whitener).
Body Care
Healthy lifestyle choices: It’s amazing what effect a good diet and regular exercise can have on the condition of your skin. Make sure you are eating a balanced diet and working out. Including your workout routine and upper body exercises would help you not only with muscle-defining, it also will help your posture.
Treat yourself to a professional manicure every few weeks leading up to your wedding to ensure your hands and nails are in tip-top shape.
Include probiotics at least into one meal per day: These types of foods help with indigestion, energy, a stronger immune system, healthier skin, and weight loss. Our favorites are foods such as yogurt, kombucha, sauerkraut, and kimchi.
Start taking beauty vitamins: If you want longer, shinier hair and glowing skin. The basic ones are: Biotin, found in foods like peanut butter and bananas. It helps reduce hair loss and encourages nail growth. Iron is found in foods including spinach, oysters, and cashews but you could take supplements too. Don’t forget Vitamin C – especially for the skin.
And the most important advice we can give you is ENJOY! Enjoy your time as a bride because it is once in a lifetime experience.
