Thank you for your interest in joining the Boston Wedding Group. Before contacting us about membership, please take a moment to review the following prerequisites and other information.

To request that a prospective member attend a BWG meeting, please contact the BWG Membership Chair by email at


  • has been in business for at least 3 years, serving wedding clients for at least 1 of those years.
  • is not a member of any other wedding networking group
  • performs business full-time


  • applicant must attend two BWG meetings BEFORE submitting an application. Fee to attend is $40 per guest per meeting.
  • after attending two meetings, or at the 2nd meeting, the applicant must submit a completed application, with a $25 application fee
  • if the board approves applicant for membership, he/she pays a one-time joining fee of $150 plus annual dues of $595, which is renewable the following January.  Dues are pro-rated as applications are accepted throughout the year.


  • to attend monthly meetings (last Tuesday of every month except December)
  • to give referrals to other members. Members join with the expectation that by giving referrals to other members in the group, getting to know each other at meetings and on site visits, as well volunteering on different committees, they will ultimately receive referrals. (We are a wedding referral group. We are NOT an on-line ‘yellow pages’ or just a directory of wedding vendors.)


  • PRESTIGE – Our extensive application process assures only the best wedding professionals in each discipline. All members are accountable for active participation in the organization and follow our Code of Ethics.
  • NETWORKING – Monthly meetings, visits to member’s sites, joining a committee, or being a board member are great avenues for networking with BWG’s professional members.
  • INCREASE CUSTOMER BASE – Committed members have opportunities to increase their customer base, by giving and receiving referrals from Boston Wedding Group members; through organizational advertising; and through affiliated BWG programs.
  • INCREASE VISIBILITY – Membership guarantees placement on the Boston Wedding Group web site, and in a variety of BWG internet and print advertising venues.
  • CAMARADERIE – Attend monthly meetings at member sites to get to know all members, share business problems, learn from each other, and indulge in catered meals.
  • CONTINUING EDUCATION – Presented regularly by Greater Boston business and industry leaders at monthly membership meetings.


How do I tell if there is a vacancy in my category? The BWG website is updated regularly. Click on your business category and see what businesses are represented in this slot. If fewer than three businesses are listed, there is a vacancy!

What if I don’t see my category? As long as your business meets the first two membership requirements, we welcome you to contact us. We are open to considering new category proposals as long as they are directly applicable to the wedding day or planning process.

What if I am a site (hotel / historic home / restaurant)? The BWG expects to limit the number of site-members to seventeen. As long as there are fewer than seventeen sites listed on our website, and you meet prerequisites for membership, you are welcome to contact us.
